Gina M. Dobson

An English teacher, born, raised and reside in the United States. She worked in the field of education for 15 years, an activist. She works within local community outside of Los Angeles to ensure that there is a public safety component of trust between law enforcement and its constituents. She is a singer, sung in choirs from Church to school performances from a little girl for over 30 years. An actor, with more that 23 IMDb credits to her name, She is working within film and television as a platform to show redemption through the characters she portrays.


She is a Christian, fearless and brave.


Sharon - Who or what inspired you to write this book?

Author Gina M. Dobson - The Lord Jesus Christ told me to write a book. I asked Him “on what”? He replied, “Scapegoat”. I looked up the word to make sure it aligned with what I knew to be the definition of scapegoat – it was what I had thought. He inspired and continually inspires me in this arena and EVERY arena. I am thankful to God!


Sharon - Tell us more about your book?

Author Gina M. Dobson - This book examines the ways, in which, the sin of scapegoating has infiltrated the public square, starting from the familial structure to the Highest Office of the Land. It has a theological, psychological and clinical approach in its resolve to understanding the detrimental effects and outcomes of this form of abuse.

Sharon - What Genre is your book and why did you make that choice?

Author Gina M. Dobson - The genre is non-fiction. It organically “fell” into this category, because it is partially “memoir” along with real-life anecdotes and scholarly expositions that unpack just what scapegoating is.


Sharon - How long did it take for you to complete this book?

Author Gina M. Dobson - I wrote the manuscript in seven weeks. It took seven years to publish.


Sharon - What was the hardest part while writing this book?

Author Gina M. Dobson - The hardest part while writing the book is facing enormous pain. I had some facial tissue with me as I typed my hurt into words on pages of hope.


Sharon - How did you come up with the Title of this book?

Author Gina M. Dobson - To be honest, the title was meant as a temporary name, until I could create something more appealing. Life happened, and the title remained. So happy kept it.


Sharon - Did you design your book cover or hire a professional?

Author Gina M. Dobson - I hired a professional to design my book cover.


Sharon - Did you self-Publish or use a publisher? Who was the publisher and how much time did they take to publish your book?

Author Gina M. Dobson - I self-published. For Print, I utilised the services of PublishDrive. For my eBook, I utilised Draft 2 Digital. They are fantastic!


Sharon - How did you celebrate after you completed your book?

Author Gina M. Dobson - I celebrated recording opening my Amazon package and showing my book!


Sharon - How do you deal with negative reviews on your book review?

Author Gina M. Dobson - To date, no one has reviewed my book.


Sharon - When did you start writing?

Author Gina M. Dobson - From a little child, I was a writer. I loved writing poems.


Sharon - How many books have you written?

Author Gina M. Dobson - This is the first of many books I have written and will write.


Sharon - Who is your favourite Author and why?

Author Gina M. Dobson - My Favourite Author Is The Breathed Word of the Holy Bible. It’s God’s Word, and I live for it as it leads me to faith in Jesus Christ.


Sharon - Can you tell us exclusively about your next book or projects around writing?

Author Gina M. Dobson - I plan to write a children’s book for my next project.


Sharon - What advice would you give to a writer, for their first book?

Author Gina M. Dobson - If you are called to write, then write! People are assigned to your voice.
